This beautiful Ukrainian heirloom produces small, round black beans with a hint of purple. They are best eaten as a dry bean, but the young snaps can also be eaten fresh. It provides an early harvest, which dries on the vine — making harvesting a piece of cake. This climbing pole bean is ideal for the home garden, producing more beans per square foot than comparable bush varieties.
