After trying dozens of cultivars of slicing cucumbers in the last decade, this reliable open-pollinated variety is our current favorite. It is crunchy, juicy, and perfect for snacking fresh off the vine. Careful not to plant more than a few vines unless you want to be gifting them to your neighbors on a weekly basis!
The modest-looking plant in the photo is what it looks like at the end of the season if you want to let the seed mature in the fruits (as we do) to process for planting next year. The seed is ready when the fruits swell and turn yellow, usually in October. We managed not to get any good photos of the fruit at eating time last season, but trust when we say it is prolific.
