Gorgeous bi-colored blossoms of salmon and scarlet that hummingbirds and bees go crazy for, this runner bean is showier than the traditional scarlet runners with pure red flowers. In many instances runner beans are perennial here in Zone 8, especially when mulched, but sometimes they die overwinter and must be replanted. Jumbo sized beans are delicious cooked as a shelly bean or young snaps, or allowed to dry and cooked like any other bean. Great climber, will grow 15' in a season if provided adequate space, great for a seasonal fence or privacy screen.
