Morning Glory, Grandpa Ott's
Morning Glory, Grandpa Ott's
Annual. Ipomoea purpurea
25 seeds per packet.
Do not fear! This is not the invasive morning glory (also known as bindweed) that plagues PNW gardens as a nuisance. This beautiful morning glory is not weedy and makes stunning deep purple flowers throughout the late summer and fall.
It loves to climb, so provide a trellis or string for it to grow up. As the name suggests, the flowers open in their full glory in the early morning and close during the heat of the day. Makes large black seeds that are easy to save and will self-sow, but seedlings are easily dug the next year and removed with the swipe of a tool.
