Pea, Magnolia Blossom
Pea, Magnolia Blossom
Annual. Pisum sativum
30 seeds per packet.
Striking purple flowers mature into juicy sweet green pods with an occasional purple stripe down the center. Vines a bit taller than Cascadia, averaging 6'. Highly ornamental edible. Leave some pods to mature for saving seed, and harvest when the pods turn wrinkly and begin to brown. Dry ASAP and then freeze seeds for 1 month to kill pea weevil larvae which are a very common problem here in the PNW. Do not let brown pods hang on the vines, you want to pick them and dry them as soon as you can to prevent the weevils destroying the viability of the seed.
