Bean, Pelligrini
Bean, Pelligrini
Annual. Phaseolus vulgaris
30 seeds per packet.
This Italian heirloom was brought to the PNW over 100 years ago by Angelo Pellegrini, who called them "monachine" (mohna-kee-nay), or "little nuns." This climbing pole bean can be eaten as either a fresh shelled or a dried bean. It boasts a delicate flavor, great texture, and rich history, making this bean worth growing. These beans take a little longer to mature than others in this climate, so Angelo would sow the beans on May 15th each year — and we suggest you do the same! We promise they are well worth the wait.
