Pea, Roveja
Pea, Roveja
Annual. Pisum sativum
75 seeds per packet.
Also known as Umbrian Wild Pea. This beautiful and tasty pea has been wild harvested and cultivated since the Neolithic age by peasants and shepherds along Italy’s Apennine Mountains. Recently added to the slow food Ark of Taste, this variety is well worth preserving and growing here in the PNW. Thrives on neglect and can handle poor soils, generally needs minimal attention and still produces solid yields of tasty peas that are used for soup. Not a fresh eating pea. The colors and intricacies of design in the seed coat are amazing. One of the most beautiful seeds in our entire catalog
