Primrose, Spinning Evening

Biennial. Oenothera biennis. 100 seeds per packet. 

Hands down, one of the coolest plants in our catalog! This biennial takes a while to make flowers but is absolutely worth the wait. In its second year, the plant flowers from midsummer to fall with 2-3 inch yellow flowers that open at sunset in a matter of minutes. Watching an individual flower open, it appears as though you’re watching a timelapse of a regular flower. In our garden, we treat this plant like a nightly show and sit with it in the evening as we eat dinner and watch the magic unfold!
